COLORADO RESOURCESAssistive Technology Partners – Assistive Technology is one of 14 required services in early intervention and special education. AT refers to tools and services for adapting a child’s environment in order to support their ability to participate actively in many settings. AT Partners is a clinic of University Hospital that provides assessment, recommendations and supports for technology use.
Child Find – Colorado’s system for identifying children with special needs ages birth to 21 (with a focus on early childhood)
Colorado Head Start Programs – Head Start and Early Head Start are federally funded programs for at-risk children and children with disabilities and their families. Programs are independently administered by agencies across Colorado. Check this website for a program in your area.
Early Intervention Colorado (EI Colorado) – In Colorado, the overall system of early intervention is known as EI Colorado for short. It is designed to “connect” a family with early intervention services, such as occupational, speech or physical therapy, to help infants and toddlers under the age of three grow and develop, and to help their family in this process. Look for the Family Members section!
Early Intervention and Assistive Technology through the Tech for Tykes program, families can borrow equipment to try with their child and receive technical assistance and support.

Early Childhood Mental Health and Behavior – Colorado has a unique program designed to work with young children and their families around mental health and behavioral concerns with specially trained early childhood specialists.
Preschool Special Education Services Colorado Department of Education
Transition Webinar – These two transition modules explain requirements, practices and challenges involved in transition for children with special needs from early intervention to preschool or kindergarten. The modules are self-paced. Module 1 provides an overview of the transition process and Module 2 discusses challenges and ways to facilitate a smooth transition for your child.
Office of Early Childhood– Colorado office designated to oversee programs and supports for children birth to age 8. This office houses a variety of programs to support children ages birth to 8 and their families.
