In 2015, Colorado began offering this 24 hour Crisis services program that includes a toll free phone line and walk-in treatment centers. This is the place to start if you don’t know where to get help with mental health, substance use or emotional issues for yourself or someone you know.

Colorado Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports – supports schools to develop this  nationally recognized system for all children to achieve.

Colorado Department of EducationBehavior supports and Mental Health webpages with research based resources for schools and families

Colorado Chapter of National Alliance on Mental Illness – Advocacy on behalf of people/families with mental illness.  There are local chapters across Colorado that offer a variety of training and support groups.

The Colorado Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health – Advocating for a responsive integrated system of care for families with children with mental health challenges.

Colorado’s Office of Behavioral Health provides programs including the Colorado Crisis Centers, mental and behavioral health programs for Health First Colorado members, and substance use programs.  List of Behavioral Health Organizations

Early Childhood Mental Health Specialists provide access to mental health services to young children, birth through 5 through consultation and coaching/training to families and early learning programs. The program focuses on developing and strengthening the social emotional skills of young children through timely screening and assessment, increasing the parent and the early learning provider’s ability to manage difficult behaviors, and providing outreach and connecting families to other community resources.

Mental Health America of Colorado – advocates for the more than one million Coloradans who experience a mental health or substance use disorder each year. We engage policymakers, providers, the public, and the press to promote early intervention, expand access to affordable services, and eradicate stigma and discrimination.

Pyramid Plus:  The Center for Social Emotional Competence and Inclusion in Colorado promotes the use of evidenced-based, early childhood social emotional and inclusive practices in early care and education settings. We work to increase the social and emotional competence and inclusion of children 0-5, including children with behavioral challenges and disabilities. Check out Resources for families.

The Trauma Informed Care Project – Trauma Informed Care involves understanding, recognizing, and responding to the effects of all types of trauma. Trauma Informed Care also emphasizes physical, psychological and emotional safety for both consumers and providers, and helps survivors rebuild a sense of control and empowerment.
